Grab CEO and Co-Founder Anthony Tan yesterday announced Grab received H series round funding with a total value of USD 4.5 billion, or more than Rp 60 trillion.

During his visit to Indonesia, Anthony said that Indonesia was an important market for Grab .

Specifically in Indonesia, he said, Grab employs more than 200 engineers .

"We have more than 200 technology engineers in Indonesia. We want to increase that number as soon as possible," Anthony said in Jakarta, Wednesday (6/3/2019).

In the official statement of Grab, it was stated that the company plans to invest a large portion of its investment funds in Indonesia.

The reason is, Grab is a leader in on-demand transportation services which controls 60 percent of the market share of two wheels and 70 percent of the market share of four wheels in Indonesia.

"GrabFood has grown very rapidly in 2018, even though we started with 13 cities in the previous year and have now operated in 178 cities in Indonesia," he said.

While for the development of talent in the field of technology, Grab has also worked closely with universities in Indonesia. For example, the Ten November Institute of Technology (ITS) and the latest Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).

"The main target is to grow their talents (students) and contribute directly to the idea of high tech , we believe that only Indonesian talents can provide the best technology for Indonesia," said Grab Indonesia's President Director Ridzki Kramadibrata.
